Synopsis:
After losing his life's purpose following the death of Askeladd, a broken Thorfinn is sold as a slave to the Danish landowner Ketil, where he meets a fellow enslaved farmer named Einar. Stripped of his violent past, Thorfinn struggles with heavy guilt, trauma, and nightmares of the people he killed, eventually rejecting violence and choosing a path of pacifism and atonement. As they work to clear a forest for their freedom, the farm is threatened by a brutal military campaign led by a now-hardened King Canute, forcing Thorfinn to stand firm in his new philosophy without raising a sword before finally earning his freedom and setting sail toward Vinland to build a land without war.
